National Removals

Hunts originally commenced national removals in the 1940’s when the company was formed. Over the next 20 years the company expanded and when the owner retired in the 1960’s the removals side was sold. This was also the time when the government was making legislation to make vehicles and our highways safe and Hunts only had a ‘B License’ which meant it could only operate within a 70 mile radius (as the crow flies) from its depot.

The new owners applied for an ‘A License’ which would authorize it to operate anywhere within the England Scotland and Wales, this was challenged by another company that said they could handle all the work. Hunts showed the authority’s letters from clients saying that the company was fully booked on days they tried to book them and Hunts was granted the license.

Operators license have changed over the years and Hunts have upgraded to an International Operators License which not only allows it to operate in the UK but also to all countries within the EU Hunts Have a wealth of experience in handling national removals and the skills of our staff whether they be answering the telephone or driving the Lorries is second to none and the majority has been passed down through the generations who have worked at Hunts.
